Dec. 22, 2017: St. Mary’s’ High School celebrated their Annual Day on the 12th of November ’17. The program began around 4.30 pm. The Chief Guest, Dr. Malini Hebbar, Professor, English Department, St. Agnes College, was elegantly ushered in by the Headmistress, Sr. Nandika, the Local Manager, Sr. Suguna, Superior of the Convent, Sr. Gloria, Principal of the P.U. College, Sr. Rachana.
The School Band gave the guests a resounding Welcome with a magnificent Guard of Honor and played lively music to accompany them to the stage.
The program that followed was a Prayer Song and a Welcome Dance (classical). Welcome Address, Prize Distribution, and the Chief Guest’s address was part of the Formal program which was compeered by Sr. Spoorthi, staff member of the High School.
The Chief Guest spoke about the importance of practical learning along with learning from books. She spoke very eloquently in English and Kannada and addressed the parents, students as well as the teachers.
The Cultural program consisted of Music and singing by the students, dances – folk dances, like Dollu Kunitha, Rajasthani dance, and a Theme dance on Mass Media and its effects on students were displayed. Yoga asanas and pyramids were performed by our agile students. A dance-drama on our Foundress, Mother Veronica related to the status of women in modern day society was the climax of the evening.
The cultural program was compeered by our 10th Std students.
It was very satisfying for of us to see the efforts of our teachers and students being highly appreciated by all.
