Carmel School,. St.Ann’s T.T.I and P.P. T.T.I structured Annual Sports Meet 2018-19 on 3rd and 4th of December at the Police Parade Ground to celebrate the Spirit of Sportsmanship
The dignitaries of the day Sr. Maria Kripa,Superior of St. Ann’s Convent and Joint Secretary of St. Ann’s Campus Institutions, Very Rev.Fr. J.B. Crasta Rector of the Cathedral of Most Holy Rosary, Mr. Vincent Colaco, Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax ,Mr. Raymond Patrao ,Member of the School Managing Committee escorted by the heads of the institutions Sr. Sarika, Sr. Shubha ,Sr. Reethika and physical directors Mr. Karunakar and Mrs. Sachitha were accorded a wholehearted welcome with the Guard of Honour by the symphonic rhythm of the school band led by Roshini and Calida School captain under the proficient guidance of Mr. Vijay Olivera.The Propitious occasion initiated with a supplication to God Almighty by the Students of St. Ann’s T.T.I and P.P.T.T.I.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sr. Sarika Principal of Carmel CBSE School addressed the guests with her sweet flowing words of affable welcome followed by a scintillating welcome dance by students of Carmel School. The Chief Guest, Mr. Vincent Colaco, Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, took the salute of the impressive March Past . March Past helped in creating responsible citizens for a country as it fostered the qualities of unity, practice team work, leadership, concentration, hard work, rhythmic movement and discipline.

The Flag Hoisting was the most solemn part of this ceremony .As the teams stood upright in their positions Sr.Maria Kripa along with the other dignitaries hoisted the flag symbolizing that the most important thing is not to win ,but to take part, just as the most important thing in life, is not the triumph but the struggle, the essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.

Torch Relay commenced then. It is a flame of hope, purity and the endeavour for perfection. Sports champs participated in the solemn torch run .The Sports Day was inaugurated by releasing balloons by Very Rev. Fr J. B. Crasta representing the aspirations of contestants to participate and individually reach for the sky in their efforts.

Vaishnavi the Sports Secretary of Carmel School pledged the oath that the competitors would take part in field and track events, respecting and abiding by the rules that govern them, in the true spirit of sportsmanship for the glory of sport and the honour of the teams. Sr. Maria Kripa the president of the programme thereafter declared the Annual Sports Meet Open .
The audience next witnessed various displays assuring the fact that we are not only intellectually and spiritually balanced and well tuned but also we possess stamina, speed, strength, skill and spirit.Sr. Maria Kripa in her presidential address opined that one cannot achieve greatness unless he puts in hard work, discipline, energy and enthusiasm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Don’t’ let others define you. Don’t let the past confine you. Take charge of your life with confidence and perseverance and there are no limits on what you can do or be. This marvelous thought provided a brainwave to Mr. Prashanth Mendon and Mr. Nagaraja our parents who surpassed in the field of sports at state and national level . They were felicitated by Sr. Maria Kripa.

Mr. Vincent Colaco,Chief Guest,Very Rev Fr. J. B. Crasta Guest of Honour ,Mr. Raymond Patrao,member of the School Managing Committee handed over the Class Topper Awards to the deserving students. Nishitha Shetty ,Student of P.P.T.T. I. issued message of thanks.Varshitha, Prenisha,Nidhi, Muzaifa,Zahwa compered the programme.

After the formal programme, a plethora of athletic events got the adrenaline roaring. Students of Carmel School ,St. Ann’s T.T.I and P.P. T.T.I competed in events track and field such as 75,100,200,400 metre races followed by Long Jump,Kho-Kho ,Shotput,ThrowBall,Volley Ball,Sack Race,Relays..

An outstanding two days Annual Sports Meet came to an end with Closing Ceremony A time filled with positive energy and sportsmanship, it was an event which helped our students to not only focus on their spiritual and emotional health, but also their physical well-being.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The event was brightened up by the presence of Sr. Rose Agnes Assistant Provincial Superior,Dr. Leo Tauro, surgeon, professor and HOD department of Surgery, Fr Muller Medical College, Mangaluru, Abdul Latheef, corporator, Mangaluru City Corporation and Mrs. Lavita D Souza,Member of the School Managing Committee. The ceremony commenced with a Prayer Dance that truly lured the Heart of the Divinity,Sr. Lenita,Vice Principal welcomed the gathering ,followed by a wide array of colourful and reverberant events by Students of classes II to X .

“Participation in itself has many benefits like it can help you boost up your confidence, challenge your innerself that helps you know more about you, realize your forgotten or present dreams, showcasing your talents and most of all being able to live completely to the fullest”.

Sr. Rose Agnes in her presidential address and the chief guests expounded the above motivational thought and honoured the winners of the sports contests with awards and trophy. Dr. Leo Tauro ,the Chief Guest for the valedictory ,declared the Sports Meet Close. Anika,Gayathri,Anshifa,Medini and Chrysanne compered the programme.Sr. Venitha, Co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks.

The day ended with a cheerful note, heralding the year 2019, also filled with promises for all the young sports enthusiasts.
