Bishop Ambrose Yeddanapalli OFM, of Bellary, requested the Superior General to send sisters to work at the Community Development Centre, in Bellary. The Provincial Superior, Sister Noelle, chose Sisters Dympna and Euna for this mission. On 15 June 1980, they proceeded to Bellary to take up their assignments. They were given a house on the campus of the Community Development Centre. It was a three year contract. Sister Dympna took charge of the Samaj Seva, Sr. Euna of the Commerce Section and later Sister Lewina took charge of the Tailoring section. Besides working at the centre, Sisters took up other ministries like teaching in the school, visiting the sick, prayer meetings and hospital visit.

The decision to leave this place was taken because of the inability to procure a suitable plot of land close enough to the place of the Apostolate. The Sister working at the Kendra would finish her work only at 8 p.m. and would find it almost impossible to walk home at night and join the community after that. Hence, Bishop Ambrose Yeddanapalli was informed on 7 Feb. 1986, that the sisters would be withdrawn from the Diocese. On 17th May, 1989, the A.C. Sisters working at the centre were given a touching send-off. However, Sisters Christine Noronha and Juliana Mathias who were working in the school boarded with the Good Shepherd Sisters and rendered their services in the School till 1990.

However due to unavoidable circumstances the Convent was Closed.
