The 38 retired staff members stepping into another phase of their life after doing everything in Education out of happiness took the centre stage on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at Province Auditorium, St Ann’s Convent, Mangaluru during the Felicitation programme organised by the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society, Karnataka.

The fragrance of gratitude for raising the bar excellence in their own institutions with a commitment to inspire the youth in transforming them was in the air. They came with a connect to the management, they smiled leaving behind a thousand smiles of gratitude.

The faces of the retired staff of 2019-2021 beamed with contentment and gratitude as they walked in to the auditorium with lighted candles along with Sister Maria Shamita A.C, the Provincial Superior and the Vice President of the A.C.E. Society, Karnataka and Sister Maria Shubha A.C., the Secretary of the A.C.E. Society. The Diya was lit by the dignitaries symbolising the light of knowledge the retired staff have spread all through their teaching career.

The programme commenced with a prayer service led by the staff and students of St. Ann’s P U College, Mangaluru. The prayer dance by the students helped everyone gathered to experience the divine presence. As their colleagues spoke briefly the achievements of the retired staff, the Provincial Superior and the Educational Secretary honoured the retired staff with shawl, garland and fruit basket. The culmination of the felicitation ceremony was to honour Sister Maria Shubha A.C, the secretary of the A.C.E Society who retired as a principal of St Ann’s D.Ed College, Mangaluru. The retired staff kept smiling as their best moments in service were captured on the stage.

The Provincial Superior in her address acknowledged with gratitude and appreciation the dedicated service and loyalty of the retired staff in moulding the students. Through a short story, she highlighted the significant contribution made by the hands of these retired staff in nurturing the students under their care and wished them all a happy and peaceful retired life.

On behalf of the retired staff, Mr Umesh Karanth expressed the sentiments of gratitude to the management and to all who guided and supported them in their teaching learning process. Sister Maria Shubha A.C welcomed the gathering, Sister Lidwyn Pinto A.C proposed the vote of thanks while Sister Maria Gracilda A.C. and Sr Gracy Lobo A.C compeered the programme. The felicitation came to an end with a relishing meal together.
