The month of December is very dear to our heart since we are celebrating the feast of Christmas, the birth of Jesus. What exactly are we celebrating at Christmas? We are celebrating the good news of God’s love to each one of us. The reason God sent Jesus into this world is because he loves us and he wants us to know that we need to love Him in return.
Though Christmas comes round year after year, for us Christians, and more so for us religious, it is not an event to be routinely celebrated or an occasion to give importance just to the external preparations and celebrations. Indeed it is the event of celebrating the threefold coming of Christ – the coming of Christ in history, His coming in grace and His coming on the last day in glory.
So dear friends we shall prepare our hearts and minds to receive Jesus during this season of Advent by prayer, sacrifice and good deeds.
I take this opportunity to wish each one of you a very happy Christmas and a grace-filled New Year 2018.
