The celebration of International Women’s Day at Infant Jesus Hr. Pry. School, Maryhill began with a prayer service appreciating the dignity of a woman and thanking our staff for their contribution in forming and moulding the students into future pillars of our country. Rev Fr Anand OFM, Cap was the chief guest for the celebration. The students highlighted the problems faced by the women in the present day society, and showcased different self defence techniques to safeguard every girl child.
After the programme, the teachers had the ‘treasure hunt’ game and the one who won in the game was the lucky woman of the day. She had to speak about the women who fought for the Country and their contribution to the society. At the end Fr Anand distributed the prizes for the winners. In his address, he appreciated the role of women in the family and the society and spoke on rights of women. The programme ended with vote of thanks followed by refreshments.
