Mangaluru, July 4, 2019 : As a mark of respect to doctors who serve the humanity, Carmel School organised a health awareness programme for the students of classes III to X recently. Alumna of the institution Dr. Rochelle Charaine Tellis, Associate Professor department of Clinical Microbiology, Yenepoya Medical College was the chief guest. Dr. Rochelle was accompanied by Dr.Neha, Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Microbiology Yenepoya Medical College, nurses Binaka, Brenda, Harinakshi and Dahlia.

The Programme began with an opening song and a prayer service. The students of class VII C welcomed the gathering with a traditional dance. Sr. Rose Agnes A.C. Administrator welcomed Dr. Rochelle Tellis with flowers, the guests were welcomed by Sr. Gracy, Vice Principal, Sr. Marlyn, Co ordinator, Mrs. Arpitha, Mrs. Sharada and Mrs. Swathi.


Ms. Shruthi gave the signifiacance of the day. Dr. Rochelle in her session enlightened the students with important health tips . To maintain good health one must consume balanced food . The carbohydrates must be consumed frequently where as sugar and oil should be consumed in small quantities. The food pyramid was well presented.

The girls of classes VI to X were given information on menstrual hygiene. Dr.Rochelle and Dr.Neha clarified the doubts of the students. The session was well presented through Power Point. The programme was compered by Mrs.Sonia Rodrigues and Ms.Shilpa thanked the guests and the audience.
